Who we are

Named after a place that has mattered twice.

Bjerkvik Defence is a Norwegian company, based in Oslo. The name belongs to a village at the head of Herjangsfjorden in the north, which the Germans held as their main base in the region during the Battle of Narvik in 1940, and where the Norwegian Army is still stationed today.

Our engineers come from robotics, machine learning and military operations. That mix shows up in the products: heavy autonomy, but never autonomy that acts behind the operator's back. And nothing leaves us until it has been flown through a winter up there.

    Recording everything is easy and nearly useless. Our systems form a baseline and raise only the deviations from it.

  • Arctic by default

    Cold soak, icing and salt spray are design constraints from the first sketch, not qualifications bolted on at the end.
